The PAACB programs are designed for individual analysts, not laboratories. Analysts working independently may see the advantage of advertising the fact that they are PAACB certified, and laboratories employing analysts may also wish to advertise the fact that they have PAACB certified analysts on their staff. The use of the PAACB name and/or Spore Analyst logo announces to clients and customers that the analysts have demonstrated an established level of knowledge required to perform analyses in a specified area.
PAACB certified analysts and the laboratories for which they work have permission, and are encouraged, to use the PAACB Certified Analyst logo and advertise the certified status of the analyst(s). However, any use of the PAACB Certified Analyst logo or name must conform to the requirements and restrictions as outlined and described below.
1.1. The PAACB logo (without the spore analyst designation) is for PAACB Corporate use only and may not be used by any individuals or other organizations.
1.2. The PAACB Certified Analyst logo is meant for use by individual certified analysts and for use on reports. See section 3, below.
1.3. The PAACB Advertising logo is meant for advertising use by individual certified analysts or laboratories. See section 4, below.
1.4. No analyst or laboratory shall advertise PAACB certification or use the PAACB Certified Analyst logo or advertising logo until the analyst has received written notice of certification from the PAACB.
1.5. A certified analyst (or their laboratory) may not imply in their use of PAACB name or logo, nor in any reference to PAACB certification, that the PAACB approves their product or service.
1.6. An analyst (or their laboratory) that is certified by PAACB in one field or level (e.g., Spore Analyst I) must ensure that they do not imply certification in any other field or level (e.g., Spore Analyst II or Pollen Analyst) for which they are not certified.
1.7. The PAACB shall take appropriate action to deal with improper or unauthorized use of the PAACB name and/or logos. Such action may include:
- request for corrective action,
- publication of transgression,
- suspension or withdrawal of certification, and/or,
- legal action.
